Arrick’s Propane offers an optional text messaging program to keep customers informed about their propane service. Messages may include delivery notifications and scheduling, tank fill confirmations, service and technician appointment reminders, account and billing notices, safety alerts, and occasional account-related updates.

Participation is entirely voluntary. You are never required to consent to receive text messages as a condition of purchasing propane, equipment, or any service from us.

Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. For help, reply HELP or contact us using the information in Section 10. To stop receiving messages, reply STOP at any time.

In connection with our SMS program, we collect the following categories of personal information:

Information you provide to us directly
- Your name
- Your mobile telephone number
- Your service address and mailing address
- Your email address
- Your account number and customer identification information
- Your consent status, including the date, time, and method by which you opted in to receive text messages
- The content of any text messages you send to us, including questions, service requests, and replies

Information collected automatically when you use our SMS program
- Message delivery data, such as whether a message was delivered, failed, or was rejected
- The date and time messages are sent and received
- Your mobile carrier
- Opt-out and opt-in history, including keywords such as STOP, START, and HELP

Information related to your propane account
- Delivery history, tank size and location, estimated fuel levels, and scheduled delivery dates
- Service and maintenance appointment details
- Billing and payment status information used to generate account notifications

We do not collect your Social Security number, driver’s license number, or full financial account numbers through our SMS program.

We use the personal information described above for the following purposes:

• To send you the text messages you have consented to receive

• To confirm scheduled propane deliveries and notify you when a delivery has been completed

• To provide appointment reminders for service calls, inspections, and installations

• To send account notifications such as balance reminders, payment confirmations, and budget plan updates

• To deliver urgent safety notices, including leak-related communications, service interruptions, and severe weather advisories affecting delivery

• To respond to questions and service requests you send us by text

• To verify your identity and confirm that we are texting the correct account holder

• To maintain records of your consent and opt-out choices as required by law and by mobile carrier rules

• To troubleshoot delivery failures and improve the reliability of our messaging program

• To comply with applicable legal, regulatory, and recordkeeping obligations

We do not use your mobile number or SMS data to build advertising profiles, and we do not sell your personal information.

We share personal information only in the limited circumstances described below.

Service providers. We share information with vendors who perform services on our behalf and only as needed to perform those services. These include our SMS platform and messaging provider, our customer account and propane delivery management software provider, our billing and payment processor, and our information technology and data hosting providers. These vendors are contractually obligated to protect your information and are prohibited from using it for their own purposes.

Mobile carriers. Your wireless carrier necessarily processes and transmits messages sent to your device. Carrier handling of that data is governed by your carrier’s own privacy policy.

Legal and safety disclosures. We may disclose information when required by law, subpoena, court order, or other legal process, or when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Arrick’s Propane, our customers, or the public — including in connection with a suspected gas leak or other emergency.

Business transfers. If Arrick’s Propane is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or part of its assets, customer information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such transfer and of any resulting change to this policy.

SMS Consent

SMS consent is not shared with third parties. Your mobile opt-in information and consent to receive text messages from Arrick’s Propane are not shared with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing, promotional, or any other independent purposes. Consent information is used solely to operate our own messaging program and is disclosed only to the service providers who deliver those messages on our behalf, and only for that purpose. We do not sell, rent, lease, or trade your mobile number or your SMS consent to anyone.

You may stop receiving text messages from us at any time.

• Reply STOP to any message from Arrick’s Propane. You will receive a single confirmation message, after which we will send no further texts to that number.

• Reply HELP for assistance, or contact us directly using the information in Section 10.

• You may also call our office or email us to be removed from the SMS program.

Opting out of text messages does not remove you from other communications. We will continue to contact you by phone, mail, or email as needed regarding your propane account and deliveries.

If you change or give up your mobile number, please let us know so that we do not send messages intended for you to someone else.

We retain SMS-related personal information for as long as you participate in the program and for a reasonable period afterward to meet our legal, tax, and regulatory obligations. Records of your consent and any opt-out request are retained for at least four years, or longer where required, in order to demonstrate compliance with applicable telephone and text messaging regulations.

We maintain administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. Access to customer information is limited to employees and service providers who need it to perform their duties. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Please note that standard text messages are not encrypted. Do not send sensitive information such as payment card numbers, bank account numbers, or Social Security numbers by text message.

Our SMS program is intended for customers who are 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has been enrolled in our messaging program, please contact us and we will remove the number.

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page and post the updated policy at https://www.arrickspropane.com/sms-privacy-policy. Material changes affecting how we handle your SMS information will be communicated to you before they take effect. Your continued participation in the SMS program after an update takes effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
