Branch Manager

As a Branch Manager, you are to carry out your responsibilities in accordance with Arrick’s Propane’s vision and mission statements. In all aspects of your job described below, you are to conduct yourself with the highest level of honesty and professionalism. The safety of our employees and customers must be your top priority. As a branch manager, you are to supervise office employees, service technicians, truck drivers, and any other employees assigned to that location directly.

  • Direct Supervisor: Operations Manager

  • Employment Classification: Full-time - Management

  • Compensation Structure: Base salary plus bonus & company vehicle

Requirements:

  • Must be able to pass a pre-hire drug screen

  • Must have or be willing to obtain Class B CDL with Hazmat and tanker endorsements.

  • Must have previous management/leadership experience

  • Must have above-average computer skills

  • Propane experience is a bonus but not required.

Core Job Responsibilities:

  • Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Manages tank installations, service work, and propane deliveries

  • Assigns work to employees

  • Inspects work to ensure it is done per all codes and regulations.

  • Oversees the collection process (accounts receivables)

  • Oversees the Budget account collections

  • Manages the efficiency and routing of deliveries

  • Rewards and disciplines employees as necessary

  • Resolves employee and customer complaints

  • Ensures that trucks, buildings, and other equipment are properly maintained

  • Pursues potential customers

  • Involves himself/herself in at least one networking organization that may be beneficial to the company (i.e., Home Builder Assoc., Chamber of Commerce, etc.)

  • Orders and manages supplies (copper, fittings, blocks, fuel, etc.)

  • Controls and manages operating expenses

  • You will be required to work closely with the Maintenance Supervisor to ensure that all trucks comply with all codes and regulations.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Required

The skills, knowledge, and abilities required for this job include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • The ability to effectively communicate with employees, customers, and co-workers.

  • The ability to solve problems and use critical thinking skills to arrive at the best solution

  • The ability to learn and effectively operate computer systems, including propane-specific back office software, Google Suite products, etc.

  • The ability to learn and understand the operation and maintenance of equipment, including trucks, cranes, trenchers, pumps, valves, etc.

  • The ability to effectively manage a retail office during high volume and stressful periods of time.

  • The ability and willingness to work outside of the office to assist drivers and service technicians periodically when needed.

  • Knowledge of routing, scheduling, and delivery efficiencies.

  • The ability to build a unified team that strives to provide world-class service.

  • The ability to learn and enforce safety policies and procedures, including DOT regulations, NFPA 58 & 54 regulations, company policies, etc.

  • Knowledge and experience in hiring, training, developing, disciplining, and rewarding employees on a small team.

  • The ability and ambition to grow your branch office.

As a Branch Manager, you are expected to take ownership of the office that you are responsible for. You are to truly manage the assets (employees, trucks, tanks, etc.) that have been entrusted to you by maximizing their productivity. You are expected to continuously look for ways to control costs without sacrificing the quality of service that Arrick’s Propane strives to deliver.

Job Type: Full-time

Base Salary: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
